Bratislava Stag Weekends: an Overview of Bratislava
Bratislava, the capital city of Eastern European Country Slovakia, is renowned for being one of the youngest capitals in Europe and with its rapidly growing city, it’s fast becoming a top destination for the stag and hen culture of today. With it’s population of over 450,000 people, this city is the most densely populated in Central Europe. Bratislava overlooks the river Danube and borders with Hungary and Austria.
Bratislava is popular with party goers for not only it’s fabulous historical city but for the very cheap food and drink on offer from the moment you arrive. A beer costs around 50p and a really decent meal will set you back a mere £5. Not only does this make Bratislava a top hot spot for stag weekends but the endless hoards of georgeous women lining the streets is enough to make any man a happy one on his last weekend of freedom!
Bratislava is not just for the guys, this historical city is more than suitable for ladies on a hen weekend with fabulous restaurants, really good clubs and wall to wall bars, you will surely have a truly memorable stay. There is something for everyone here and the Old Town is jam packed full of pubs, hip bars and pumping nightclubs – not to mention acres of ridiculously attractive young ladies.
This wonderful city has a large variety of cheap drinking venues wherever you go so whatever your budget, this place suits all. During your stay, be sure to try some local Slovak beers such as Zlaty Bazant or Kelt. But be warned: if you try downing too much of the pungent local spirit Borovicka you may find yourself waking up somewhere other than you had planned! Not a great way to finish your stag weekend.
Activities in Bratislava are endless, exhilarating and, at times, not for the faint of heart. Bobsleighing and bridge swinging is one of the newest, most up to date crazes for the adrenaline charged stag junkies amoungst you. If you’re looking for something a bit more run of the mill, 4×4 driving, Karting, Paintball, Clay Pigeon Shooting and pretty much anything else you can think of are on offer in the city. If you’re after something more unique, the Aerotrim Astro Trainer which has been built to simulate the weightlessness of floating in space; attack the roads in a rugged Armoured Car; fire some powerful machine guns at a target range or get involved in a competitive game of Ice Hockey. If you’re after something a little more laid back, you can’t go past a Brewery Tour that includes, of course, drinking copious amounts of alcohol.
The official currency in Slovakia is the Slovak Crown (“koruna”). The exchange rate is presently about 60 SKK to 1 pound. You can easily change money in hotels, banks, foreign exchange offices and ATMs, but the exchange rates may vary. We recommend using banks, which generally offer the best deals.
Bratislava’s city centre is very compact and you can get everywhere on foot. You can also catch public transportation almost everywhere – schedules are easily understandable and written in minute intervals. All taxis have several rates which vary depending on if they are ordered by phone (the lowest) or hailed on the street or taxi stand. We strongly recommend that you insist using the meter and make sure that the correct rate is being charged. Alternatively, we can arrange all of your transportation for you, from your airport transfers to being taken to and from your activity centres. If this is something you would be interest in, plese enquire about transfers when you book and we’ll take the headache out of your travel issues in and around Bratislava.
